What’s the best way to get a large dog (50 lbs.) from New York City to the Hamptons?

We are considering getting a large dog (about the size of a lab or golden retriever). We travel from NYC to the Hamptons nearly every weekend by the Hampton Luxury Liner, Hampton Jitney or LIRR. None of these services can accommodate large dogs. Any suggestions?
